“How much does an ice sculpture cost?” is the first question in almost every request we receive. The honest answer is: it depends — and that is not a dodge. Every sculpture is a unique, hand-made piece of crystal-clear ice, and the price comes down to a handful of concrete factors. Here they are, so you can budget for your event realistically.
1. Size and amount of ice
Every sculpture starts with a block of crystal-clear ice. A table piece uses a fraction of a block; a floor-standing sculpture, a tall luge or a multi-part installation may need several blocks joined together. More ice means more production, more carving hours and more demanding transport.
2. Design complexity
A block with a frozen-in logo is technically different from a finely carved figure such as a swan, a unicorn or a character. Organic shapes, thin parts and elements that challenge balance take more of the sculptor’s time and sometimes engineering solutions — which is why our team pairs a sculptor with an engineer.
3. Personalisation
- Logos and text — frozen inside the block or built into the sculpture.
- Frozen-in objects — bottles, flowers, fruit, brand products.
- Functional elements — luge channels for serving drinks, dispensers, seafood displays.
- Light — LEDs frozen inside, as in our ice Christmas tree.
Each of these adds production steps and therefore affects the price.
4. Delivery, set-up and venue
Ice sculptures are heavy and fragile and travel under controlled conditions. Distance, access to the venue (stairs, lifts, gardens), set-up time and whether our team needs to stay at the event all affect the cost. At Iceology every sculpture comes with a drainage base and adjustable lighting.
5. Lead time
We work with orders placed at least 10 days in advance. Booking early, especially in wedding season and December, secures your date and leaves time to refine the design.
6. Event duration and setting
A piece outdoors on a summer evening has to be sized differently from a sculpture in an air-conditioned room. The right size for the length of service is part of the project — and of the price.
